On January 22nd and 23rd, members of the Vermont Ice Cider Association took their show on the road to the Boston Wine Expo, the largest show of its kind in America. Representatives of Champlain Orchards, Windfall Orchard, Hall Home Place and Eden Ice Cider Company gave Bostonians a taste of the new wave of ice ciders being made in Vermont. They loved us! The table was packed, and our favorite repeated phrase of the day was "my friend just told me I had to come over here and taste this!"
The Association's President, Eleanor Leger, was interviewed by Bruce Newbury for "Dining Out Boston" on WXLM Radio. She later gave a seminar and tasting that included two Vermont artisanal cheeses - Cabot Clothbound Cheddar (aged at The Cellars at Jasper Hill) and Dancing Cow's Lindy Hop blue cheese.
The Association's participation in the Boston Wine Expo was funded in part by a grant from the Vermont Agricultural Innovation Fund.
